Laser Skin Resurfacing, Windsor

What is Skin Resurfacing

For laser skin resurfacing in Windsor, the uneven skin is exposed to brief, focused, pulsating light beams using the laser method. By vaporizing the skin, laser skin resurfacing eliminates it very accurately, layer by layer. The epidermis, the top layer of your skin, is removed by lasers while the dermis, the layer beneath, is heated. New skin that is smoother and firmer is produced as a result of the lasers’ stimulation of the creation of new collagen fibres. Other names for this common practice include lasabrasion, laser peel, and laser vaporization.

Laser resurfacing employs lasers to tighten skin, eliminate benign (non-cancerous) and malignant lesions, lessen the appearance of wrinkles and scars, even out skin coloration (pigmentation), and minimize the appearance of wrinkles and scars.

No matter how fair or dark your skin tone is, Venus Concept’s customized fractional skin resurfacing treatments can successfully minimize symptoms of skin damage and enhance the look of uneven skin texture. You’ll see a naturally smoother, more vibrant, and healthier-looking complexion after just a few brief sessions.

Radio Frequency Skin Resurfacing

Another effective method for skin rejuvenation is Radiofrequency. This technology is an electricity-based treatment that travels through the surface of the skin into the deeper, dermal layer. The resistance of the skin as the energy travels through it prompts both a tightening of the existing cells, as well as the stimulation of new collagen fibers. Like laser resurfacing, this treatment is safe and effective, and in many cases, requires little to no downtime post procedure.

The ideal candidate for radio frequency skin resurfacing is anyone who shows signs of skin damage, including deep wrinkles, scars, visible pores, stretch marks, and/or anything else that affects the skin’s texture.

Yes. Venus Concept’s skin resurfacing treatments use technology that’s safe for all skin tones, even darker ones

Most patients receive 3-4 treatments per area. The exact number will depend on each individual person and the area being treated.

Make sure your skin is clean. Do not apply any lotions, creams, perfumes, powder, or makeup before your treatment session, and avoid tanning. Remove all jewelry around the area being treated. If you have excessive hair on the treatment area, shave it beforehand. It also helps to be prepared with information about your medical history—the technician will likely ask about it.

Each session usually lasts 15-30 minutes, depending on the area being treated

You will feel tiny pins on your skin followed by a little zap. Your face will then feel warm, like a sunburn.

Venus Concept’s radio frequency skin resurfacing treatments may be slightly uncomfortable, but not painful. You’ll feel intense heat, similar to the feeling of sunburn, and your face will look red right after the treatment. For more aggressive treatments, you may get a topical numbing cream to reduce any discomfort.

If anything, you’ll feel relaxed. The treatment is comfortable and has been compared to a relaxing hot stone massage. Some patients have even fallen asleep while they were getting treated.

After your final treatment, your results will continue to improve. However, one touch- up session may be needed approximately every 6 months, depending on how your skin responds

Yes, but only for 24 hours post-treatment or up to 5 days for more aggressive treatments. Follow the post care instructions given by your provider.

Avoid touching or scratching the treatment area. For the first 24 hours, only apply products that are expressly recommended by your treatment provider, as there are many topicals that could cause severe irritation. After 24 hours, you should apply sunscreen (at least SPF 30), preferably one without chemicals. Also avoid rigorous exercise and hot baths or massages on the treatment area for the first 2 days after your session. Make sure to keep your skin clean and protected from the sun. Avoid any sort of tanning.
